New Exhibit at Art on Barcelona—Santa Fe, NM

On flights of color

I am joining four other artists in a group show entitled “For the Beauty of the Earth”—an exhibit created to coincide with the Earth Day celebration. A Reception for the Artists will take place on May 3rd at 12:30pm.

I am debuting one brand new series—On Flights of Color—created by digitally montaging my photographs of specimens of butterflies and moths paired with Santa Fe scenery and graphical elements moving through the color spectrum.

Shown congruently is my 2012 series Galapagos Duos inspired by my travels to the Galapagos islands in that same year.

Three of my most recent “Santa Fe-Inspired” works are included in a group show, “Color & Light” at Gallery35 in New York City. The exhibit opened on February 21st and will be on view thru March 21st. A closing reception is planned for March 21st from 6-8pm.

Earlier this year, I was honored to have two pieces—Social Butterfly and Shark Alert— included in the Long Island City Artists group show at the Atlantic Gallery in the Chelsea section of New York City. To see these and related works, go to my Fine Art section and click on Balloon Fiesta!

Home On The Range

This gallery consists of an ever-expanding collection of animals —spotted in and around the New Mexican countryside—displayed in fantasy colors and locations.

Way Out West

NM HikeThree months into my Santa Fe “sabbatical,” I am debuting my first two series—Santa Fe Icons and Balloon Fiesta! I continue to work digitally by creating an artistic spin on my photo montages.

The high desert offers artists such inspiration that  it is not surprising that Santa Fe is one of the great art centers of the world!  I am continually astounded by the many highly creative methods employed by the local art community. Visiting the many galleries continually provides me with a sumptuous visual feast!

I still plan to exhibit at Gallery35 in NYC as part of the collective’s group shows—and perhaps someday here in Santa Fe!  In the meantime, visit my website to see my latest work!

Balloon Fiesta!

A “collage” of my photos of the spectacular mass ascension of hot air balloons at Albuquerque, NM. These balloons were works of art in themselves!

Iconic Santa Fe

Montages of my first impressions of the art and beauty of my new city: Burro Alley, The Shaman, The Railyard —and its environs: Bandelier, Taos Pueblo, El Santuario de Chimayo.

Sanctum

We all have visions (or memories) of places — sanctuaries — where we have experienced a feeling of peace. Representative locations for me are the southwest (New Mexico and Arizona), the seashore (New Jersey) and a friend’s backyard overlooking a pond (Southhampton, NY).

Right Up My Alley!

Little streets — or alleys — are some of the most interesting and picturesque sights for the tourist.

Shown here are composites of my travel photos that show the best of typical alleys in Ireland (Galway), France (Paris), Ecuador (Guayaquil) and Greece (Mykonos).

Vintage French Carousels

These photo montages were inspired by Fête Paradiso: the world’s first festival of vintage French late 19th and early 20th centuries carnival rides and carousels enjoyed by visitors to Governors Island, NYC during the summer of 2013.
