I took two walks in the parks – New York’s Central Park and Brooklyn’s Botanical Gardens – in the winter when the branches are proudly bare. Photographing the more interesting trees, converting them to drawings and juxtapositionng them led to The Birds And The Trees (2011). The little robin was photographed simply enjoying an early spring day.
