Paint The Town
Paint The Town (2009) is a series in which I chose vivid hues to color cast New York City.
Hues Make News: the rainbow reflecting the varied colors of those ubiquitous newspaper boxes found throughout our city which have replaced the little newsboy of bygone times—and our growing appreciation of the colorful tapestry of people who make up our city!
Eastside, Westside: an imaginative montage of two views of the skyline of lower Manhattan as photographed from across the Hudson and East Rivers …aka “It’s a New York World!”
SoHo Spectro: a photo montage of actual colorfully painted buildings found throughout SoHo arranged and joined by familiar NYC sidewalk/street icons to portray a full-spectral street scene!
Standouts!: there are buildings —and then there are BUILDINGS! Some of NYC’s “stars” are colorfully shining in this montage of photos and drawings.
The Starry Ride: a couple embarks on an journey—via those color-coded transit lines—into the city under a starry sky that Vincent van Gogh would surely love!
